I am an unabashed fan of street art. Whether back alleys of small towns or flashy building-sized murals, these are the real masters of communicating ideas to the masses.

While staying in New York City on assignment, I had the privilege of wandering the former meat-packing district, which has (I assume) an official agreement with The City to retain the visual aesthetic defined by grafitti artists of the 70s and 80s.
At the Standard Hotel, I was transfixed by a continuous loop of arthouse documentaries. As a result, I have found myself lifting techniques and visual tricks for graphic facilitation from The Universe of Keith Harring and Next: A Primer on Urban Painting.
It will be very embarring for my young daughters if and when their 40-something-year-old dad gets arrested for tagging a large, naked wall that was just begging for it!
